Old friends,

they mean much more to me than the new friends,
Cause they can see where you are,
and they know where you've been.

I don't agree with that one. New friends bring change into our lives and offer us new perspectives. New friends are just as important to me as old friends.

After all, without new friends, how would we ever find old friends?

one of my favorite quotes (that I sadly have dropped too often on posts) is from Linus (Peanuts): "A friend is someone who knows all about you... but likes you anyway." Old or new I want friends like that.

There is a time and place for both. And New friends who statd the tests thrown at friendship become old frinds.

"Old Friends" is the title of a Simon and Garfunkel song off "Bookends".

Old friends,
Sat on their park bench
Like bookends.

doug - Yes, new friends are important. If for no other reason: things change ... people move on.

lemuel - That's a great quote. There's nothing better than unconditional love, is there?

4hm - Thinks for reminding me of another favorite song from the past. Somewhere I have the album ... or is it the 8-track?
