What’s in my duffle bag?
My bag is packed and I’m ready to go. I'm taking the train to NYC early tomorrow morning. I’ve tried to really pack light. How much of a wardrobe do you need on a sailboat? Not much! I’m only taking one, medium-sized duffel bag. If it wasn’t for the week we’re going to spend in Edgartown, I would probably have been able to pack less than half of what I am taking. However, the good part about the stop on Martha’s Vineyard is that I’ll get to do laundry and recycle everything.
What color is my wardrobe?
I usually pride myself on being a “colorful” person. Most things I own and wear are bright colors. Somehow this trip is going to be different. Due to the white socks and white t-shits that I’ve packed, it’s predominately white. In fact, of the 31 articles of clothing I’ve packed, white socks and t-shirts account for 29% of it. Beyond that, the most predominant colors are grey, green and blue. There are only a couple of items each that are orange, yellow, or purple. Plus one pair or black shorts and one pair of khaki shorts.
I’m a brand whore.
I’ve spent my entire professional life pushing brands on consumers. Here are the brands you’ll find in my duffel bag, toiletries included:
Bass Pro Shop
Johnson & Johnson
The Black Dog
But what about the food?
The menus are “coming along nicely.” In other words, I don’t have the slightest idea yet what I’m preparing every day to keep everybody fed and hydrated. But we’re having a meeting Thursday night after I get in NYC. Friday we’ll spend prepping the boat, and then set sail at 6:00 AM Saturday.
I’m looking forward to this adventure. Maybe I can post pictures when I get back in August.
