Thank God for the Court System

.

I don't think I've ever been more repulsed than by some of the hate-filled rhetoric of Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church.

Personally I don't even think it's appropriate to make the statement I typed in the title of this post. But, I do want to thank someone.

It's hard not to judge
those that are judgemental.

I hope the judgment sticks on appeal, but, alas, I fear it will not.

Thank goodness for that. Unfortunately, the article went on to state that there's no way that the plaintiff will ever see the award considering the defendants' worth. Which I guess is a good thing. A soldier who died in Iraq and lived just north of me was subject to this. UGH!

One of the protesters actually responded on Joe.My.God.

Fascinating reading.

I loved the scene in "The Matthew Sheppard Project" movie where a group of "angels" use their wings to block out those protesters signs at Matt Sheppard's funeral. I've always wondered if that actually happened. It was so poetic.

Astounding. Just truly horrific. All that hate in the name their God.

What's sad is that this will not end, the freaks will keep protesting, and they'll continue to claim first amendment rights.

what's sadder is that Albert Snyder still lost his son in this war in Iraq and the $11 million is less than what we spend on the Iraq war each day.

And the worst is that the bravery and courage of his son, Matthew, has been overshadowed by the continued irresponsible actions of the Bush Administration and the Westboro Baptist Church.
